Mingo Point Oyster Roast and BBQ is Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s longest-running event, a treasured family favorite and a genuine Lowcountry tradition. Guests of all ages enjoy feasting on fresh oysters roasted over an open fire, along with other BBQ specialties such as ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and Lowcountry Boil with all the Southern side dishes and desserts to make this a true culinary experience.

Guests will also enjoy family fun like live music and other activities. Best of all is Mingo Point’s natural setting—right on the banks of the Kiawah River.

Each Mingo Point date includes two seatings for guests to choose from when purchasing tickets: 4:00pm – 6:00pm and 6:15pm – 8:15pm.

Important Notes for attending a Mingo Point Oyster Roast & BBQ

    • Your email confirmation is your physical ticket and must be presented upon entry.
    • No walk-up ticket purchases will be allowed or honored.
    • Limited capacity is available for each seating – once a seating is sold out, that date or time will no longer be available to book online.
    • Tickets must be purchased by 9am the day of the event.
    • All attendees must have a ticket regardless of age.
    • All purchases are final – no refunds will be issued in the event of inclement weather.

FAQ

We recommend arriving at the scheduled start of your seating time. We will try to accommodate early arrivals but cannot guarantee entry prior to scheduled seating time.

We offer two seatings for each scheduled event. The first seating is from 4-6pm, and the second is from 6:15-8:15pm. New for 2025, we are pleased to offer an additional third seating for the June 23rd and 30th from 8:30-10:30pm and from 8pm-10pm on November 28th.

Please note, if you purchased tickets for the second seating, we cannot open the doors until the first seating has fully cleared and we have reset the space. Please reference the recommended arrival time.

There are several reasons that you may have not received a confirmation e-mail. Please take the below steps to ensure receipt:

  1. Check your spam folder.
  2. Confirm the charge is showing up on the statement of the credit card used for purchase.
    If not, then the purchase did not complete.
  3. Contact us at mingo_events@kiawahresort.com to ensure there are no errors in your e-mail address.
No animals are allowed at this event with the exception of service animals.
No outside food or beverage is allowed. If you booked a sunset cruise before or after the event, your cooler cannot be brought into the event, it must stay in your car.
Yes, this venue is handicap accessible. There is limited handicap parking available. Should you need handicap parking, please let the team member know as you enter the parking lot.
The seating for this event is first come, first serve. We have a variety of seating options and large tables available.

Vegan/vegetarian plates are available upon request and include a chef’s choice of assorted roasted vegetables, tofu, edamame or beans and rice, pasta or quinoa. The buffet is labeled with all dietary information. Should you have any allergy concerns or dietary restrictions, we are happy to accommodate. Please let us know in the comment section when booking your ticket. At the event, please notify a staff member and they will be happy to assist you.

This event is held rain or shine. We offer a variety of covered seating options and plan accordingly to accommodate the weather. In the event of extreme weather, we will relay any changes to the event in advance to all guests with existing reservations.
Parking is available at Mingo Point. However, we do recommend carpooling if possible. If you are staying through Kiawah Island Golf Resort, our complimentary shuttle services are readily available for drop-off and remain on a loop to pick guests up throughout the evening.
Those added to the waitlist will be contacted by 1 pm on the day of the event, or before should a spot become available. You will be required to pay for your party on arrival by cash, credit, or room charge.
Each ticket to the event includes a full buffet, all-you-can-eat oysters, dessert, non-alcoholic beverages, music and a local artisan market. There are two bars that accept cash, credit card and room charge available throughout the evening and offer an assortment of beer, wine and specialty cocktails.
We are pleased to offer discounts to Kiawah Island Golf Resort rental property owners and Governor’s Club members. Please reach out to your property manager or the Governor’s Club office respectively for the discount code.
The discount applies to villa and home guests in all resort-owned clubhouse and market dine-in outlets. The Mingo Point Oyster Roast is an event and not a dine-in outlet, so the discount does not apply; however, we do extend the discount to guests who use their amenity card at the bars.
